The first volume 'Migration and integration research - multidisciplinary perspectives' is the opener for the 'Migration and Integration' series and aims at a disciplinary reintegration of relevant research. Many disciplines are concerned with migration and integration processes from various perspectives, with different methods and theoretical concepts. There is a lack of transdisciplinary cooperation for clarification of concepts, theory development and empirical evidence. The present reader strives to settle these observable deficits and presents 13 contributions to migration and integration research from different disciplinary backgrounds. The constributions include the presentation of fundamental disciplinary approaches, questions and perspectives as well as concrete research questions in order to characterise the respective empirical or conceptual approaches. The reader serves as a source of information and introduction into the topic. It aims primarily at students interested in this subject matter, but also at a broader audience who wants to gain comprehensive and broad insight into the topic.
